Alpha Dog is an American film written and directed by Nick Cassavetes, released on January 12, 2007. Based on the true story of Jesse James Hollywood, the story follows a young drug dealer, Johnny Truelove, and his involvement with the kidnapping of 15 year old Zack Mazursky.
Alpha Dog grossed $7.4 million dollars and was in 7th place in the box office on its opening weekend.The film closed on February 22, 2007 after grossing $15.2 million domestically, and $20.3 million worldwide during its six week release.
