P.S In order to install xp sp2 black edition without asking for passwords you will have to make a clean install only and everything should work fine.

The only parts that are interchangeable are from the ShareOnAll server only.

managed to download all parts, and saved the extracted .iso file to a bootable cd rom.

When I try to install it on my sanitized laptop, it just comes up ‘Starting Caldera DR-DOS’ and does nothing more…

Mr. plimber when so many people are complaining about the password issue, you should sense that something is wrong. Repeatedly replying with the same answer doesn’t make any difference.
I too encountered with the same problem and finally I got a way to resolve this issue.
All those who are complaing www.fullandfree.info password doesn’t work - IT WORKS! You might be trying to download parts of file from different servers (one from RS another from FF etc). Just download all the parts of files from a single download server. I don’t want to go technical issues on ‘why it doesn’t work’ but it took me about 4 hrs to find the ‘real culprit’. Just download all the files from a single server and voila it works! Happy download! The seven parts that you download after you extract the files it gives you one cd iso and not 7 cd iso’s.
Once you burn your cd just create a new installation and you are all set up mate.

I’ve read the whole thread and the files won’t extract. as soon as extraction reaches 140mb it stops and asks for password for archive. I typed www.fullandfree.info and it starts extracting from the begining and when it reaches 140mb it repeats the asking for password and starts again over and over and over never completing the extraction.. I down loaded all parts from gigasize.com 9 rar files. you say they make one cd tgether but the extraction program says they are 679.2mb in size when extracted. That = 6112.8mb too much for a cd so whats up with this?

OK, I downloaded all 7 parts from the same server. Once I had them all, I opened part 1 with WinRAR & entered the password & an ISO was created. I burned it to a CD using Nero, then booted off ot & did a clean install. I got an error message late during the install…something about corrupt files in Themes. I closed the message box & the install continued. It froze on the desktop screen - blue background with the XP build info in the lower right corner. There were no icons & no start button or taskbar. Had to use reset button to force a reboot & it froze again at the same screen. Used the reset button to reboot again & finally brought up the WPI. The only things I left checked were Real & Quick Alternative. Eventually I got into Windows but I wasn’t happy about the buggy install. I setup my wireless card, tried Windows Update & had no problems. I was even able to install SP3, but it didn’t go smoothly. Thinking that It may have simply been a bad burn, I tried another disk, this time I use ImgBurn to create the CD & I burned as slow as possible. I formatted the HDD & tried again with the new CD. I had the exact same problem with Themes. I redownloaded all the files from a different server & tried again. This time I got an error message about dxdiag.dll…I closed & continued, then got a Fatal error. To make a long story short, 3 out of 4 CDs ended in the trash & the only “good” one was a pain in the ass to work with. Any suggestions?? BTW, why did you disable right click options on the start menu??

When you are having problems you can install other releases mate.
There are a lot of members that they had very minor problems with this release mate.
Try searching the windows xp pro sp2 student edition and install this release instead.

I downloaded all 7 from another source, but still have a question.

After reading all of the posts, I got confused with your comment about the 7 ISOs to 1 ISO.

If I extract all 7 into a folder, they would just overwrite each other since they have the same name. I tried to extract and update, but that did not work. Can you please give a detail how to go from the 7 RAR files to 1 ISO for disc burning please?

If you choose to download from other server you will have to download all from the same one.

Be polite here mate there are a lot of youngsters reading on Full and Free and show some respect for yourself first mate.
What do you mean it doesn’t burn?
Make sure to download all the parts either from the interchangeable links or the ones from each server alone.
You extract the files you get one iso file then you just burn with your nero or any other program of your choice.

First of all make sure that you are running the latest winrar version mate and then download either or from the interchangeable part or the standalone ones.
Then it should extract with no problems for you mate.

There are many thousand people that downloaded the software with no further problem then the ones i have told you mate.

The best way to install this version of windows is to commit a clean install mate.
My advice to you is to create a clean install and not upgrade that you have already done mate.
It’s really your call on this.

Plimper has stated (about two hundred times) that you have to do a CLEAN install. In other words, format your hard drive.

If you don’t understand what this means, you really shouldn’t be messing with the OS of your computer!
