Description:
Holy Diver was the debut album of Ronnie James Dio’s new band, Dio (which is a band as a whole, not a solo band) released in May 1983. Widely considered to be Dio’s greatest album, its singles included “Holy Diver” and “Rainbow in the Dark”.

Holy Diver was certified platinum in the United States.

Holy Diver is also the name of a video game starring Ronnie James Dio developed by Irem. It was released for the NES in 1989 in Japan only.

MTV.com has also announced that metalcore band Killswitch Engage will do a cover of the title track for an upcoming Kerrang! compliation album of metal classics.
