Rory Gallagher - Defender 1987

Description:
Donal had set up an independent label, Capo, retaining ownership of Rory’s material while licensing it to Demon Records. ‘Defender’ was comercially successful. “Continental Op” was written to pay tribute to Dashiell Hammet, a great mystery novelist of the early 1900’s.

The Continental Op was a detective in a series of novels written in the 1920’s. The only song from this LP that Rory did not write is “Don’t Start Me Talkin’” by Sonny Boy Williamson. He covers this song with strong blues vocals.
